Founder and Program Director Emeritus
Following the 2012 season, Nick became Program Director Emeritus.
2012 will be Nick's sixth year directing the program and sharing his swimming expertise with the team. Before becoming a competitive swimmer, Nick recreationally swam at Vet's pool growing up which gave him the motivation to start the team. Nick captained the Middletown High School boys team from 2006-2007 and was acknowledged as the team's outstanding performer his senior year. He gained all-conference honors, swam in numerous state competitions, and was recognized for being an outstanding student athlete. This tradition continued into college where he swam for and in his senior season was elected captain of Boston College's NCAA Division I varsity swim team. Nick gained ACC honors as a student-athlete and was recognized for multiple Outstanding Performances. He still holds pool records at the local high school.
Nick also was the head coach for the Greater Middletown Special Olympics Aquatics team from 2005 - 2009. Several of his athletes from that program qualified for the National Games.
Under Nick's leadership Vet's has an all-time dual meet record of 24-8-1 and a championship meet record of 48-24. Vet's has won the divisional championship twice and captured the League Championship in 2011. Many alumni of the team have gone on to swim in college.
Sam is entering his fifth summer with the team. Sam has an extensive swimming background highlighted by all-conference honors, numerous trips to statewide competitions, and high school records. Sam was the Middletown High boys swim team outstanding performer in 2009. Currently he is a NCAA Division I varsity swimmer for Marist College.
Sam's enthusiasm for Vet's swimming has helped the program grow tremendously the past few years.
